It is autumn and we have started our post-excavation work on the materials from this summer's excavations at Grub-Kranawetberg II, Lower Austria. The work includes washing and labelling the objects of the last few excavation days - the bulk has been processed and curated in our field lab during the excavation season. We are also starting to analyse materials - from sorting sieve residues, studying lithics and faunal remains, to prepping other samples (charcoal, grain-size, soil micromorphology, etc.) for being shipped to specialists in Austria and abroad.
