Today we started our 2022 fieldwork at the mid Upper Palaeolithic (Gravettian) site of Grub-Kranawetberg II in Austria. Located just east of the well-know site Grub-Kranawetberg (I) close to the village of Grub an der March in the vineyards.
We started our work with some prospection through coring. The goal is to find archaeological horizons and a good spot for our 2022 excavation trench. We were lucky to find in one of our first corings an archaeological horizon with lithics and charcoal!
