Updating Rose Cottage Cave fieldwork's documentation system to the new EDMpy software

During his participation in the Rose Cottage Cave fieldwork (directed by Viola C. Schmid) Philip R. Nigst updated the documentation system used to the new EDMpy software. While the 2023 fieldwork still used EDM Windows, in 2024 we decided to update to the new EDMpy.

EDMpy is a Python version of the previous EDM-Mobile and EDMWin apps. EDMpy is developed by Shannon McPherron and currently available as Beta version on his GitHub page (https://github.com/surf3s/EDM). After the first set-up, the new system worked exceptionally well with our Leica TS07 total station. We run EDMpy on a Microsoft Surface Go3 tablets and connect it via Bluetooth to our Leica TS07 total stations.

During his stay Philip R. Nigst trained all team members in using total stations and the software EDMpy.
