Guided tour and excavation for daycare kids from Vienna

Today a group of daycare kids aged 1.5 to 5 years and their parents visited our fieldwork.

They first enjoyed a special guided tour of the Museum Stillfried - Zentrum der Urzeit and learned about mammoth, stone age hunters and gatherers, life as a kid 30,000 years ago and had a lot of fun. Walpurga Antl-Weiser gave a special tour and entertainment in the museum.

After this they had to climb the hill called Kranawetberg....and then visited their first excavation. Co-PI and PalArch Group member Dr. Marjolein Bosch explained all steps and processs of an excavation. And, of course told about some of the coolest and prettiest finds she had ever collected.

The highlight was a special excavation for our new team members in our backdirt. They expertly recovered all the experimental lithics and fauna we hid for them....eh...kids 30,000 years ago left behind.
